Tarmo 3 dual motor upgrade
thingiverse
Welp, it finally happened! I'm thrilled to share the news about KrisCubed's latest masterpiece: a dual motor upgrade for the TARMO 3. This incredible conversion enables both motors to sit inside custom-designed mounts that fit snugly on opposite sides of the rear driveshaft. The gearbox had to undergo some serious modifications as well, resulting in two input shafts and two input gears that mesh seamlessly with the standard output and split gear. This upgrade is a game-changer for anyone looking to boost their torque capabilities, whether they opt for a higher KV motor like my current 2200kv setup or go all out with two EMAX GT2215 09 1128 KV motors. I personally tried this configuration for a week, and the results were nothing short of amazing. However, it's essential to note that the upgraded motors will require a more robust ESC, likely in the range of 60A or higher. Don't even think about using those torsion springs; instead, print your driveshafts with flexible materials like solid TPU, PLAflex, or nylon for optimal performance and minimal stress. The best part? The upgrade still uses original bolt holes, making it a breeze to install and ensuring seamless integration with the rest of your TARMO 3 setup. So go ahead, give this incredible conversion a try – but don't come crying when you're dominating the skies!
