These are some specialized tack-style heads designed for use on the ends of 6D finishing nails. I used 2-inch nails that were 2.3 millimeters in diameter, and their heads varied from 2.7 to 3.1 millimeters in size within a specific range. To accommodate this variation, the head is oval-shaped. I insert the nails into these tack-style heads by sliding them in, sometimes requiring a bit of force, and then giving them a slight twist if necessary to ensure they are securely lodged. The entire tack head measures 20 millimeters wide and 14 millimeters tall.
