TARDIS with Light and Sound FX

Human: I loved Captain Spatula's Deluxe TARDIS design, but I wanted it to have pulsing lights and sound effects, so I modified the design to fit my needs. I had only 3mm LEDs available, which meant making some custom parts to make it work. I redesigned the LED holder and lamp shade to fit 3mm LEDs. The battery holder was also reworked to accommodate an Arduino Pro Mini Clone and a speaker that fits snugly on a ledge. The power consumption is relatively low at around 60mA initially, but then drops down to about 40mA. To create this effect, I wrote the Arduino code myself, as it was my first project. The code uses the tone library to play the iconic Doctor Who intro theme. During the light dimming sequence, the speakers emit a simulated takeoff sound that follows the light pattern. After three cycles, the speaker mutes and the lights keep pulsing. I have provided instructions below. Instructions Code Warning: There is a bug in my code that causes the sound to reactivate after about 17 minutes. I believe this issue stems from my counter variable rolling over to -37,768; I need to rewrite the code. Fortunately, the accompanying schematics, circuit diagrams, and comments in the code should be sufficient for you to replicate it on your own. Beginner's Corner: For those new to Arduino, I recommend familiarizing yourself with this tutorial on fading an LED using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) https://opensourcehardwaregroup.com/tutorial-10-fade-an-led-with-pulse-width-modulation-using-analogwrite/. If you want to incorporate sound effects into your project, then the Tone library should be right up your alley: http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Tone. My code is a mashup of both these concepts. Required Materials: 3D printer Arduino Pro Mini Clone (5V compatible) 5 white LEDs, 3mm 2 x 360ohm resistors 1 x 100ohm resistor 1 x speaker (8ohm or 16ohm) - salvaged from a birthday card or bought separately 9V Battery 9V battery leads Wire Hot glue gun or double-sided tape Tools Needed: Soldering Iron Voltmeter
