Tardis Towel Hook

Tardis Towel Hook

I was on the hunt for a Tardis-style hook to hang towels, but couldn't find one. So I decided to take Gossamer's existing parametric Tardis model and attach a simple hook base that slips onto it seamlessly. ABS plastic is the material of choice, though any other substance could work just as well. Once installed, the Tardis can be left to spin freely on its base or glued into place for added stability. The mounted version has a slight deviation from the original STL file. I've included an extra support strut at the bottom to make printing smoother and give it extra durability - although it does add some visual bulk. To my surprise, this tweak didn't diminish its appeal. The kids just loved them nonetheless. To complete this base, you'll need to grab the SMALL_TARDIS STL file from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13109. Print Details: - Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC - Printer Model: Rostock MAX - Use Rafts: Yes - Enable Supports: No - Print Resolution: .3mm - Infill Percentage: 50% Notes: I printed my own using an upright orientation, which turned out to be a solid decision - no extra supports needed in this case.
