Most chromed rod bearing Y axis upgrades are either too large or completely unusable for me in my setup, so I needed a simple solution that doesn't require a huge print and has a minimal footprint that won't interfere with other mods I already have. To solve this problem, I created an 8mm chromed rod stand that can be screwed directly into the foundation using self-tapping screws. The tolerances on this design are extremely tight, so if your printer is even slightly off, you may need to use an 8mm drill to carefully widen the hole for the chromed rod up to 8mm in order to get it in without cracking the part. Printing these parts is quick and easy. I recommend using a triple-wall structure with 25-35% honeycomb infill for added strength. Printing them too large won't do much good and may even cause warping, depending on your setup and material. I printed mine in ABS using these settings, and they turned out perfectly. When installing the upgrade, make sure to align your chromed rods precisely over the Y axis before tightening down and double-checking the alignment with a caliper for maximum precision. Edit: To help you set up this upgrade properly, I've added a drilling template from another model. You can find the original template here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1828362 by IMakeByDesign. This should give you a good idea of how to assemble everything correctly.
