Tarantula X-axis idler with integrated tensioner

Tarantula X-axis idler with integrated tensioner

thingiverse

This is a replacement X-axis assembly I created for my Tevo Tarantula (but it will work with any 2040 extruded aluminum setup). I drew inspiration from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1580899 and modified the design to make it easier to print and use a single idler wheel instead of the two small ones that come with the stock Tarantula. Bill of Materials: 1 - Idler Wheel 1 - M5 25+mm screw with nut for tension wheel 4 - M4 20mm screws with nuts One of these should be a flat-headed screw for the idler axle, or you could use a thin wedge nut instead (just flip the idler wheel carriage before printing to ensure the screw head side is on the outside if needed, like on Tarantula). Here's the idler wheel I recommend. *These are available more affordably as well. You don't need any extra spacers for the idler wheel - this design has them built into the idler carriage. Minimum supports are required for the shell. Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 25%
