Tarantula Radial Fan Fang ABS remix
thingiverse
This is a remix of the awesome Radial Fan Fang modified to be simpler to print in ABS. It fits a Tevo Tarantula with the stock carriage using a 4020 radial fan, with or without a BLTouch. The Radial Fan Fang is hands-down the most efficient and compact fan I've found for the Tarantula. If you only print PLA there's no need to use this remix: use the original. However, if you print PETG/ABS or use an enclosure, you also really need an ABS duct. A fang printed in PLA will heavily warp in multiple places (see the picture!), and the fangs themselves will often droop due to the temperature, eventually colliding with the print. This remix changes several details that make printing the fang easier using ABS. You'll still need supports (on the build-plate only) and some post-processing will be required due to poor bridging, but nowhere as much as the original. Please don't ask for changes, I'm not really good with Blender: the original modified file is provided which includes all the optional features. Changes: - Reduced overhangs in all screw holes on the fan grill - Enlarged the inner screw structures which were simply not sturdy enough and had a tendency to crack - 0.5mm thicker fan grill for extra rigidity - Reduced overhangs of the lateral fan grill supports - The fan grill supports now reach the end of the grill for extra rigidity - Thicker base allows printing without a brim (gluestick is *still* recommended though) - Extra material on the underside of the upper screw holes for easier post-processing - Extra-thick BL-Touch mount for rigidity and easier post-processing The BL-Touch mount still retains identical offsets and height. Look at the original for details.
