Tarantula Pro Brush Support for Nozzle Cleaning
thingiverse
I designed an auxiliary support for my Tarantula Pro's nozzle, located on the right side of its X-axis. This innovation addresses three distinct problems: - On PETG prints, I can insert a G-code command between layers to move the nozzle to the corner and clean it out. Since PETG has a tendency to accumulate filament on the nozzle during extended printing sessions. - At the start of every print, I run a purge operation in the corner, allowing the brush to wipe away any excess filament as the printer begins printing. - During filament changes (M600), the brush now takes care of purging until the color change occurs, eliminating the need for manual nozzle wiping. Additionally, there is an unused space on the right edge of my bed (252mm in my case, but limited to 235mm by the bed's boundaries). To take advantage of this area, I've configured Marlin to enable its "Nozzle Park" feature and designated that corner as the park location. As a result, every print ends with a G27 command that parks the nozzle there. Furthermore, after each filament change (M600), the printer will also park at that location. To create this support, I printed two 3mm holes flat on the bed and oriented the brush slot upwards.
