Tarantula fan duct LH
thingiverse
The fan duct is made up of two sides, left and right, which are screwed together during the mounting process for the 40 x 40 motor. It's best to print one side at a time, as you'll need to mirror the file to get the other side correct. To print this part, orient it upside down with the motor side facing the table, as shown in the Cura attachment. The duct is attached to the hot end mounting bracket using two existing screws that hold the hot end in place. I adjusted the hot end so that the heating element and wires are positioned at the back, allowing for clearance of the cables around the fan duct. This setup improves air flow significantly and works very well. UPDATE: A new file has been uploaded called FD2 LH, which includes a slim version of the fan duct. The accompanying photo shows the X-axis carriage in its 200mm position with 3mm of clearance from the control card.
