Taranis 3S LiIon Back Hatch
thingiverse
My stock battery is rapidly depleting its power, prompting me to investigate alternative solutions. I've taken on the challenge of making 3S Li-Ions fit seamlessly and provide external power to the Crossfire or Goggles. This model remains blank without a name. It can accommodate both 2S and 3S configurations, allowing you to use your goggles packs in place as well. Quality BLACK XT30's are available from AirbladeUAV. Using high-quality cells is essential - if it has "fire" in the name, it will catch fire. I'm using Samsung mj1 3500mah green cells from IMRbatteries.com. The only modification required on the TX side involves cutting out two chunks of plastic - see the picture below for reference. After extensive use over the past few weeks, I'm thoroughly satisfied with this setup. During a recent session, I used it for 6+ hours and then plugged in my goggles for another 3 hours, resulting in a battery level of only 11.6V. I decided to recharge it and replenish only 1000mah. My Taranis is set to trigger a low voltage alarm at 10.5.
