
Taqa the hunter: AS3 - Organic Character

My Organic Character for a University Assignment in Year 2, Crafted from Scratch. All assets were designed and brought to life by me alone. Taqa is my creation, a skilled hunter on a mission to track down his prey and offer it as a sacrifice to the gods of the sky. The character and its trusty weapon are a total of 33,494 triangles, well within my budget of 40,000 units. The UVs for each material have been cleverly combined into a single 4K texture, ensuring seamless integration and maximum detail. I sculpted Taqa in Zbrush, before retopologizing him in 3d Coat to refine his shape. In Blender, I rigged and animated the character, while Substance provided the textures, with final touches added in Photoshop. The weapon was modelled from scratch in Blender and merged with Taqa's body in Zbrush for a cohesive look. I textured it using Substance as well, matching the style of the character perfectly. Grass and ground have their own dedicated 2k textures, each one meticulously crafted to bring out their unique characteristics. The grass, previously created in 3ds Max as part of a previous assignment, has had its texture resolution increased for added realism. The fern too benefited from this upgrade. The ground was carefully designed using Quinxel Mixer, ensuring a natural and immersive environment for Taqa's adventure.
