The VAXER kit from Ikea includes a hole for inserting the required funnel to feed the system. When you remove the funnel, this hole remains and allows UV rays to pass through. These rays interact with the dissolved nutrients in the water and create algae. The cap I designed blocks light from passing through, blocking algae formation.
