Human: The mirrored skeletal structure of a South American tapir's left forelimb is showcased here, specifically specimen MEO 2204b from the MuseOs Natuurhistorisch Museum in Belgium. Created by Jaim Gray as part of the oVert team, this scene highlights the intricate anatomy of the forelimb through strategic coloration. Initially, pre-existing meshes were compiled, modified, and colored using a combination of Blender and Meshlab software tools. Luc Tyteca played a crucial role in meticulously cleaning and preparing the bones for display. The original 3D mesh models were generated by Jamie MacLaren during a 2016 laser scanning process at the University of Antwerp's Lab of Functional Morphology, boasting resolutions between 1.0 and 0.5 mm.
