Tapered Leg Jig for Planer
thingiverse
This is a precision tapered leg jig for a planer, custom designed for 3.5" x 3.5" x 29" material. I specifically engineered this jig to taper two sides and produce a 2" square bottom, while also tapering approximately 23 inches of the leg. However, due to design changes in the legs, I opted to reduce their dimensions to 3" x 3" x 29" and added a .5" shim at the lower end. This alteration resulted in a perfectly squared 2" base and a tapered section spanning about 20 inches of the leg. Yes, it's perhaps over-engineered, as I could have simply cut wooden blocks to achieve the same effect. Nevertheless, this jig delivers precise results. The material itself is old reclaimed heart pine, featuring distinctive nail holes that add character to its appearance.
