I assembled a budget-friendly microphone setup for my system and found the vibrations from a standard tapered mount to be unacceptable. To utilize the tapered mount mic in a 50mm barrel shock mount, I required a spacer. Initially, I employed a multitude of electrical tape but soon designed this alternative in cad. I recommend placing two strips of electrical tape on your microphone to maintain stability or try using flex filament instead.
