Tape measure vernier
thingiverse
Sometimes you want to measure accuracy better than 1mm at distances too large for your calipers. This adds a vernier scale to any metric tape measure, giving you more precise readings. Available in various versions, including 0.1mm, 0.05mm, 0.02mm, and 0.01mm accuracy levels. A 3D test version prints faster, allowing you to test the exact fit of items and see if your printer can successfully print small pins needed for the 0.01mm version. The original design is available on Onshape at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/6ad35fdba3e3babde64e604a/w/a26beded4d7ab9aea561ab08/e/98faa5467fe149a4529f83e0, where you can customize the pin diameter, length, dovetail fit, and line width to suit your needs. I may attempt to learn SCAD to create a version that can be managed with a configurator.
