Tape Dispenser Insert (no support)

Tape Dispenser Insert (no support)

This replacement tape dispenser can print without any supports, making it perfect for 3D printing on Makerbots like the one in your classroom. After scouring Thingiverse for similar designs, I found that none could be printed without support using my classroom's Makerbot. To overcome this limitation, I designed a two-piece tape dispenser that prints beautifully with no support required, and can be easily assembled by simply snapping the two pieces together. Tip: when printing the axle rod, orient it on its side to ensure the filament grain runs lengthwise; this provides maximum strength in the direction you need. You may also need to tap the rod into place using a rubber mallet if it gets stuck in the insert hole.
