They carefully strip away the plastic component and let the parts drop into a vial for more convenient storage. You can usually obtain about 3000 per 1.5 dram vial. A 2 dram vial should fit nearly all of an entire reel's worth of resistors inside. Currently, this only works on 0805 sized resistors and with the paper tape in place. However, you have the SolidWorks model at your disposal. Feel free to modify it according to your needs. They prefer using the 1.5 dram vials (PN: 66011-063) available from VWR.
