Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts
thingiverse
A basic tap handle can likely be found for about $20 and will genuinely be more durable than this one. Nevertheless, these handles function extremely well as long as you don't overtighten them! I created this set mainly to experiment with a different technique of inserting threads into 3D printed components. As evident from the design, I employed a wood insert nut instead of a standard nut. This type of nut offers additional threads and distributes the applied stress in a manner that differs from a standard nut. The insert nut will also never unintentionally fall out! To enable a direct comparison between different types of nuts, I provided an STL file for each type.
With this file you will be able to print Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts.
