Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts
myminifactory
A standard tap handle is likely to cost around $20 and will, in all honesty, be a far more durable tool than this one. Be warned, however, that these handles can work quite well if you don't overtighten them! I designed this set primarily as an experiment with a different method for inserting threads into 3D printed components. As you can see, I used a wood insert nut instead of a standard nut. This type of nut offers more threads and disperses the applied stress in a different way than a standard nut. The insert nut will also never accidentally fall out! I have provided an STL file that fits each type of nut so you can print one of each to compare them directly. For comparison, a standard steel tap handle is available on Amazon at http://amzn.to/28OyPEj.
With this file you will be able to print Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Tap Handles with Wood Insert Nuts.
