Tap Handles V2

Tap Handles V2

Small handle for a tap with square shaft. I do a lot of prints with threads, and some of the time it's necessary to recut the threads when the print is finished - this doesn't take much effort, but can nearly be done by just holding the tap with fingers. So enter the Tap Handle, a small replacement for a large and clumsy Tap Iron. These handles are created for 2.5 to 6.5mm square shafts, making one for e.g. a 2.8mm shaft either go for 3mm or accept it being slightly loose, or adjust the scale in your slicer. To be printed with hole facing upwards, I recommend fine settings for the slicer, but if you're in a hurry, it doesn't matter much. I like to print these a bit hotter than usual in PLA (again any filament should do) in order to improve strength, but keep in mind that these are not meant for cutting threads in steel.
