Tantillus dowel mount for loose filament
thingiverse
To secure loose filament, place a horizontal dowel in the Tantillus case design. This replaces spacer washers on the front stiffener like side fan mounts. Use 5/16" or 8mm rods; wooden dowels are cost-effective and breakable. The friction fit allows easy removal for travel. SCAD files offer customization, including dowel hole size or alternative mounting options. Follow these steps: 1) Print as oriented, 2) Replace washers with the mount on the front stiffener, 3) Insert dowel of desired length, 4) Use binder clips to hold filament on dowel (arms-up), 5) Place filament coil between clips and load into Tantillus, 6) Continue printing.
