The Type 97 Chi-Ha was a medium tank employed by Japan's Imperial Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Khalkhin Gol conflict against the Soviet Union, and World War II. It was the most extensively produced Japanese medium tank of WWII. The 57mm main gun, inherited from the Type 89 medium tank (1933), supported infantry operations. Its suspension system derived from the Type 95 Ha-Go light tank but featured six road wheels instead of four. Powered by a 170hp Mitsubishi air-cooled diesel engine, it was a reliable option in 1938. Distinguished by its low silhouette and semicircular turret radio antenna, the tank's effectiveness declined post-1941 compared to Allied designs. A newer version, the Type 97-Kai or Shinhoto Chi-Ha, emerged in 1942 with a larger three-man turret and high-velocity Type 1 47mm tank gun. Rendering options include Mental Ray 3.13 (Native File) in 3ds Max 2016, Scanline, FBX/OBJ exports preserving materials, and texture maps at 4096x4096, 2048x2048, and 1024x1024 resolutions, all housed within organized layers and groups for easy part management.
