The Type 97 Chi-Ha, a medium tank employed by Japan's Imperial Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Khalkhin Gol battles, and World War II, was their most extensively produced medium tank. Its 57mm main gun, inherited from the Type 89 medium tank of 1933, was designed for infantry support. The suspension was derived from the Ha-Go light tank but featured six road wheels instead of four, while its 170hp Mitsubishi air-cooled diesel engine was a capable choice in 1938. Distinguished by its low silhouette and semicircular radio antenna, the Type 97 faced obsolescence after 1941 as it lagged behind most Allied tank designs. A revamped version, the Type 97-Kai or Shinhoto Chi-Ha, emerged in 1942 with a larger three-man turret and a high-velocity Type 1 47mm gun. The 3D model is made in 3ds Max 2016 and rendered using Mental Ray. Versions are available for various rendering engines, export formats, and texture resolutions. Layers and groups have been organized for easy part management, and Ngon polygons are utilized in the model. Note that the background image is not included.
