The Type 97 Chi-Ha, a medium tank employed by Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II, was widely produced as their main medium tank. Its 57mm gun derived from the Type 89 medium tank was designed for infantry support. The suspension was adapted from the Ha-Go light tank with six road wheels instead of four. Powered by a Mitsubishi diesel engine, this tank had a distinctive low silhouette and semicircular radio antenna on the turret. Post-1941, the Type 97 lost effectiveness compared to Allied tanks. A new version, the Type 97-Kai or Shinhoto Chi-Ha, was introduced with a larger three-man turret and high-velocity Type 1 47mm tank gun. A 3D model of this tank is available in 3ds Max 2016 with rendering options for Mental Ray 3.13, Scanline, exporting in FBX and OBJ formats, and easily manageable layers for parts. The turret can be animated to desired positions. However, Ngone polygons are used on the model.
