I made double idlers and used buggy shocks with ball ends that have a drilled hole for a 6-32 bolt to go through the arm. These parts use the tank track, idlers, spacers to complete the set in my things. I made two types of double arms: middle arms, which are the Tank Dbl Arm ML-R, and shorter rear arms, which are the Tank Dbl Arm SL-R. There is also a beam that holds the idler wheels for these arms, known as the Tank Dbl Arm Beam. All of these idler arms take 1/4"x1/2" shoulder bolts at the frame pivot point. I used some Kirby vacuum cleaner swivel bolts for the beam pivots and included a tank pin to replace them in case they get damaged. To install the pin, use 4x1/4" sheet metal screws with flat washers and drill a hole with a #42 drill bit. You can find updated instructions on the thingiverse page, along with a link to a YouTube video of the tank in action. The model is still a work in progress, so please check back for updates. Some fellow tank builders have shared some valuable information, including alternative shock options that fit some slight modifications to the suspension arms. Specifically, the HPI Brama 18B #103003 and #103004 shocks worked well with some minor adjustments. However, if you prefer a more affordable option, you can also use WLtoys A959 Vortex Complete Oil Filled Front and Rear Shock Absorber Set. Instructions for printing these parts include building with raft and support to ensure smooth movement.
