Tank track
thingiverse
The gears are finally clicking into place! Since I'm a huge fan of improving tank designs from timmiclark, I had to put my own spin on it. The flat track layout from MR4 is way more practical (especially when there's a rotational platform on top), so I'm going for that design. Since the MR6 tracks seem like an upgraded version, I'll use this track interface. I tweaked the tracks, although they should still match the gearing from MR6: * I made some adjustments to avoid brim and support issues * Added both 2.85 and 1.75mm options (it's experimental, but hey!) * Increased the height of the outside of the track by 50mm - I think this will improve the track movement when the outside is closer to the pivot points. There are two options: Using 2 electric motors for one track: * 36x tracks + filament rods * 2x motor frames * 4x driving wheels * 2x motors Using 1 electric motor for one track: * 36x tracks * 2x motor frames * 2x driving wheels * 2x driven wheels * 2x fake motor parts * 1x motor * 2x flanged bearings Adjustments needed: * Drill a hole in the motor frame where you want to have the wires coming out. * Don't forget to drill all track holes for a better fit. MR4 compatibility: You can also reuse MR4 body parts, which makes this project even more exciting! The only difference between MR4 and this tank is the improved tracks.
