Tank T-60 Soviet Tank Design Team Led by Nicholas Astrov at Moscow Factory No. 37 was tasked with designing amphibious and non-amphibious scout tanks in 1938. They produced the T-30A and T-30B prototypes, paving the way for future tank development. The T-30A was designed to be manufactured as the T-40 amphibious tank starting in 1940, while the T-30B prototype served as a foundation for the T-60 scout tank. Production of the T-60 began in July 1941, following Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union. Initially, the T-60 was intended to carry a 12.7 mm machine gun like its predecessor, the T-40. However, this armament proved inadequate against newer German tank designs, prompting an upgrade to the 20 mm TNSh cannon, a tank version of the ShVAK. This weapon could penetrate 15 mm of perpendicular armor at 500 meters, but ultimately failed to meet expectations. In response to these limitations, the Soviet Union's People's Commissar for Tank Industry, Vyacheslav Malyshev, advised an upgrade to the T-60 with a more powerful cannon. The T-60 was initially slated to receive the 37 mm ZIS-19 cannon in 1942, but this project was abandoned due to ammunition shortages. A new turret design was then developed and tested successfully in the summer of 1942, featuring a co-axial machine gun and improved crew accommodations. However, this upgrade ultimately proved unnecessary, as Stavka chose the recently produced T-70 as the new standard light tank. The 3D model of the Tank T-60 is created using 3ds Max 2016 and rendered with Mental Ray. It is available in four different formats: native file for Mental Ray 3.13, Scanline rendering for 3ds Max 2016, FBX export, and OBJ preset from 3ds Max 2016. The model includes a texture map with resolutions of 4096 x 4096, 2048 x 2048, and 1024 x 1024, stored in the 3ds Max folder. A polygonal Ngon is used to create the model's complex geometry. The scene is organized using layers and groups for easy management of individual parts. Note that the background image is not included with the model.
