The Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB) developed the Oplot-M main battle tank (MBT) for Ukrainian Armed Forces. Providing superior protection and high mobility, it can destroy ground-based and low-flying aerial targets. In 2009, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence inducted these MBTs into service. The Royal Thai Army also placed an order for 49 Oplot-M MBTs in September 2011. Armed with a KBA-3 125mm smoothbore gun, a KT-7.62 (PKT) coaxial machine gun and a KT-12.7 anti-aircraft machine gun, the main gun can also fire laser-guided missiles up to 5,000m against tanks, armoured vehicles, and hovering helicopters. The tandem warhead on these missiles can defeat targets with explosive reactive armour or advanced spaced armour. With 46 rounds for the main gun, the Oplot-M also carries ammunition for other weapons like KT-7.62, KT-12.7 machine guns and AKS submachine guns. Consisting of individual objects such as turrets, guns, machine guns, and scopes, this versatile MBT offers unmatched capabilities for modern warfare.
