Two hulks of Landing Craft, Tank, Mk 4 lie abandoned at the mouth of Port of Poole Marina, serving as a makeshift breakwater since after World War II. Soon to be demolished due to upcoming harbour projects, these wrecks were hastily repurposed to save costs. The forward landing craft, LCT 728, proudly displays Third Division insignia, hinting at its D-Day service history. As far as I know, no other LCT Mk 4 vessel remains afloat anywhere else. A low-resolution model of the scene was created for upload purposes as part of an MSc dissertation research.
