Replacement joysticks for the Color Computer standard controller can be upgraded with new buttons. However, it's uncertain if these replacement parts will match the Deluxe joystick model perfectly. After printing out the replacement buttons, a 1/8-inch drill bit is required to remove the button stand. This modification enables the replacement button to fit snugly over the joystick's plus peg. The original plus pattern in the button stand was an experimental design that didn't work as intended but made the drilling process safer and more manageable. When drilling out the button stand, exercise caution to avoid going too deep or moving too quickly.
