The basic filter adapter is a sleek ring that slips over the lens, allowing for rotation but with slightly stiff movement. The advanced two-piece design features an inner ring with four tabs to prevent rotation and ensure proper alignment, while a second outer ring secured by two M4 screws provides effortless rotation. Four brass threaded inserts are embedded in the adapters, enabling filter mounts to be attached and stacked for multiple filter use. This system boasts excellent performance with a single filter attached, but may experience vignetting when stacking filters or rotating the lens. For additional flexibility, consider pairing this system with our Magnetic Mount System (available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2945482). However, please note that this setup may induce vignetting on the 15-30mm lens at wider settings, depending on your configuration. To enhance performance, we recommend lining the inside of the rings with a 3mm thick adhesive felt tape (such as Moroday brand). Designed and printed in ABS, these adapters are best suited for black material to minimize reflections. Keep in mind that other materials may affect fit due to shrinkage or lack of precision. For the Basic Adapter: Print the 15-30 Basic Filter Adapter. Line the inside of the ring with adhesive felt tape or a product of your choice (rubber and foam adhesive tapes are also viable options). Insert four brass threaded inserts (M4x6x6mm) into the holes using a soldering iron. Alternatively, drill out the holes and secure the filter mounts with washers and nuts. Print two 15-30 Filter Mounts. Print two 15-30 Squat Filter Mounts for each additional filter you wish to mount. Fasten the filter mounts to the adapter using four M4x25mm countersunk screws (longer screws may be required for extra mounts). Holes may need to be drilled out with a 4mm drill bit. Optionally, print the 15-30 Shroud and install it by sandwiching between the adapter and the filter mounts. For the Two-Piece Adapter: Print the 15-30 Inner Ring and 15-30 Outer Ring. To ensure proper installation, print the outer ring at high quality/minimum layer thickness. Test the fit of the two rings and secure the Outer Ring with two M4x10mm countersunk screws. Sand one or both surfaces until you're satisfied with the ease of rotation. Consider gluing or bonding the Outer Ring as the 3D printed threads may have limited strength.
