Tampon Magazine

thingiverse

There aren't many functional prints for women on Thingiverse so I decided it's a good opportunity to make a contribution. The only tampon holder on Thingiverse is described as a "joke", which surprises me considering the Maker community tends to be conservative. These are essential items that almost all women use, making it seem like we should have at least one here. This design isn't space-efficient, but it's better than having tampons fall out of that flimsy box and scatter around in the bottom of your bag. It's also a lot of fun to load up like an action heroine when you're feeling down. You can even use it with one hand, leaving the other free to fight off villains - really thoughtless villains with terrible timing. The magazine holds six OB Pro Comfort "Normal" tampons or any 13mm x 52mm tampon. It should scale cleanly to fit any similar-shaped tampon. The TinkerCAD model is here if you'd like to add text or decorations: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9bOJgQYpBFs-tampon-magazine The spring fits into the bottom plate, which then gets inserted in the magazine and secured with a little superglue. I use superglue and PLA for almost all my prints and it works great - just make sure there's a good fit with no gaps and you only use a tiny bit. I made a short YouTube video showing my 3D printing workflow and instructions for assembling this print: https://youtu.be/ugxOl6tMnM4. It's my first build video, so I'm not sure how useful it will be - I'm a bit awkward. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: Two shells, four top and four bottom layers seem to work ok.
