Tamper Tag

Tamper Tag

prusaprinters

This is a tamper tag, kinda like what you would find on a utility meter or box. It is meant to indicate if whatever is being locked up was tampered with, since it requires cutting to remove. It is not technically a security device.

It was designed around some stainless steel, 0.041", lock wire I had laying around. The wire was likely from Harbor Freight.

Wire dimensions: Total length = 170mm or 6.75in, 90* bend = 12mm or 1/2in, hook = 9mm or 3/8in

Directions

Cut the wire to length

Bend the wire 90* and hook to the lengths listed above.

Glue the two halves of the tag together with the 90* end sandwiched between them as pictured.

Wrap the wire around whatever you want to tamper lock.

Jam the hooked end into the open slot and tug firmly to lock.

**FreeCAD files are attached, if you'd like to remix it!
