Tamiya TT-02 Suspension Kit (Rally)
thingiverse
*as of 2023/06/13 I haven't had any issues with the suspension arms but the half-shafts have failed me. This happened while driving through tall grass and I do also have a powerful motor. Maybe I'll use rods for that or maybe I'll look into Tamiya parts. This is my first big post so I hope ya'll like it! I don't expect too many people to use this though as it's for a niche market. But nobody has done anything (as far as I know) so I did :). This is a suspension lift kit for the Tamiya TT-02 RC car. I used eSun PLA+, PETG would probably be better though. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Part Explanation: Front and Rear Suspension: I simply extended the arms to get more height out of my TT-02 car. Shock Arm: In order to reach the extended arms with the stock suspension I just made an extended version of the stock shock. Shock Spacer: I didn't like that the stock spacers still left some space (which also caused a lower ride height) so I printed some thicker spacers. It slightly preloads the springs a little (which is probably not good for drivability). You don't need them though. Half-shafts: Longer suspension meant longer shafts; I shortened them a little recently (they were a bit long) and haven't printed them for myself but they should be fine. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- An explanation: V1 parts: V1 parts are fully 3D printable I do not recommend printing V1 Rear Suspension parts due to either weak pegs or weak Upright Mount (depends on orientation when printing) V2 parts: The V2 Parts are similar to V1 except for 2 things. The first is that they are slightly chonkier. The second is that instead of 3D printed pegs, a 3/16" rod is used. I also used a 3/16" drill bit to re-bore the peg holes after printing (my printer ain't perfect v_v) I am currently going with V1 Front Suspension and V2 Rear Suspension. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Part Orientation: These orientations are related to the part's strength Front Suspension: Laying Flat Rear Suspension: On a side (like a wall standing on one of the peg holes) Half Shafts: Laying Flat (NOT on pegs, pegs parallel to print bed) Shock Arm: Laying Flat Shock Spacer: However your heart desires (but flat) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Extra Parts needed: 3/16" Rods (Cut to lengths ~50.8mm and ~24mm for lower and upper respectively): https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08GSCB1HL?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Tamiya Low-Friction Suspension Balls (IDK if stock ones work, may update in future): https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/option-parts/rc-tt02-low-friction-sus-ball/ Adjustable Steering Rods (I have these, but you may also be able to get some TT-02T ones or other adjustable ones, I don't quite know what length is needed yet though) https://www.yeahracing.com/adjustable-steering-tie-rod-set-for-tamiya-tt02-tt02-012-00036558
