Tamiya TL-01 Front Foam Bumper Mount
thingiverse
My local RC club mandates the use of foam bumpers instead of hard bumpers. The TL-01 comes standard with plastic hard bumpers... What am I to do? If this is you (as it was me), then try this! With only this file, a sponge, and a ziptie, you can make your own foam bumper at a fraction of the cost of a third-party one, and just as functional! Feel free to let me know how it works for you! Cut the foam into the correct shape you need, I used a craft knife but anything sharp will do, even scissors will work if they're sharp enough. I cut it into a T-shape, and then slice a slit horizontally to fit the blade of the mount inside. You can use glue if you want, but a ziptie is my preferred option, and the holes in the blade are for threading the ziptie's cable through for support. Wrap it around the top and bottom of the foam, and tighten, then cut off the excess. Mine warped in a weird way when I did this, so I shaved the bottom off slightly so it didn't scrape on the ground. This part is designed to use the same holes and screws as the original plastic bumpers, so no extra hardware is required past what's already there. Please enjoy!
