I designed and manufactured a brand-new battery holder for my vintage Tamiya TL-01 I'm restoring to its former glory. CAD software and 3D printing techniques have proven to be significantly faster than waiting for a replacement part to arrive from abroad. The new holder was printed in durable PLA, oriented so that the circular hole is positioned at the bottom. So far, it has withstood numerous crashes without showing any signs of weakness.
