Tamiya RC car battery spacers/protectors
thingiverse
Simple shells safeguard standard-sized NiMH packs and absorb excess space when used in Tamiya Frog and Hotshot models. I'm fed up with seeing new batteries in my son's cars take such a pounding! The battery slides or snaps into the shell, which is securely held in place by the tiny tab between the metal gearbox sides. Everything fits snugly, and the battery no longer flops around. This design could be modified to fit smaller soft-pack LiPos without worrying about damaging the soft shell. I've added a basic shell with dimensions similar to a 7.2v 3000mAh NiMH pack that can accommodate a LiPo up to 22mm x 42mm x 125mm in size, including wires. Alternatively, you could cut a slot in the side for the wires to exit.
