I've found a solution for why I have to hook up a cable when everything else is remote. Okay, so the conductive ABS plate didn't work - it has too high a resistance to handle even the small amount of power needed to drive LED lights, which was really disappointing. To make it work, you'll need 6mm pogo pins, 2mm screws and bolts, aluminum foil, and spray glue. You can also buy sheets of copper on Amazon, but I haven't used them yet, so I don't know if using a fingernail will still separate the plates if you use copper - you can solder the leads without needing the 2mm screws and bolts. Use spray glue to attach the aluminum foil to the plate, then use your thumbnail or something similar to split the plates using the grooves on the plate, making sure all of them are separated with no shorts. Keep in mind that the sound board I'm using is from China, so their idea of ground and positive is backwards - red is positive, which is also common, so the black leads are your switched leads. Yes, this makes no sense to me either, but everything you purchase as far as electronics follows this standard - they switch using ground, we switch using positive.
