Tamiya M03 printable
thingiverse
Here are the results of re-scaling the model to make it printable, which may be a few millimeters larger or smaller than the original M03. The model uses 3D printed spur and counter gear as well as a Traxxas 2388X differential with printed drive cups for the diff. The smallest pinion that can be used with the spur is 21T 48P. All bearing sizes are the same as those for the M03, along with screw sizes. An alternative version of the C4 parts and add-ons has been created to hold the battery better than with the top little clip that may break off. The pin door variation will allow the use of body clips to retain the ends of the C4 door for easier battery access. The model uses stock screws as well, and there is some play in the original model's steering suspension. This has been taken out using delrin bushings, but washers or printed spacers can also be used. The gearbox has held up so far with a 1900KV motor and 3-cell lipo, and it is recommended to get the dogbones (MA15) in metal as they have twisted and snapped even with 3D printed tires. The rear of the chassis has been modified for RWD modification, which is simply a matter of putting the front arms on the back and the back arms on the front. To assemble the model, follow the original manual here: https://www.tamiyausa.com/pdf/manuals/58211ml.pdf On June 12, 2018, a spacer was added to extend the chassis to the 225mm Tamiya M03-M wheel base. On the same date, a spacer was also added to extend the chassis to the 239mm Tamiya M03-L wheel base.
