Tamiya LunchBox independent front suspension arms for Futaba FX10 CRP upgrade
thingiverse
Since I upgraded my lunchy's front suspension using the Futaba FX10 kit, I've been consistently dissatisfied with the shock position and alignment. So, I designed my own front A arms to accommodate the Futaba knuckles and aftermarket shocks. There are other designs on Thingiverse, but they all have one major flaw: either they're too short for the Futabas or they're too weak or poorly designed, which prevents me from printing them correctly. It took some work in Fusion 360 and around seven iterations of the design (print-test-fail) to get it right. These designs can be printed with minimal support – just the round part needs support. The arms have a hole to accommodate 2mm nails in the round parts that connect to the body. I use a drill tip to clean the hole, then slip in a simple 2mm nail. Using 75mm aluminum oil shocks works best for this design. To work properly, you'll need the FX10 CRP kit. Feel free to modify and redesign these arms. Give me your feedback after testing – I was thinking about adding 2mm holes to add more steel reinforcement if needed.
