Tamiya Hilux Mirror
thingiverse
Thanks for looking at my replacement vintage Tamiya Hilux door mirror, this is designed in one part, unlike the 2 part original. There is a slot in the base so you can bend up some thin steel, aluminium, brass or stainless to mount in the same way as the kit part. My sample was printed on my trusty Flashforge Finder FDM printer using an ultra-fine setting. A light sanding with progressively finer wet and dry gave an excellent finish, I originally intended to resin print this part but I'm happy with this version. I used a Molotow chrome paint marker directly onto the mirror, don't use any base paint or primer as the chrome will soften and chew it up, similarly don't try going over the finish for a second coat. In hindsight I would have poured the pen contents out and airbrushed it instead for a far better finish.
