Human: Brand-new replacement front upright for vintage Tamiya blackfoot classic RC car kits. Replacement Uprights Are Essential Now! I acquired an heirloom set of high-performance Tamiya remote-controlled cars from my wife's sibling when they were teenagers. The cars, now over 25 years old, required some updates and modifications such as installing lithium-ion batteries for optimal performance. Unfortunately, during a test drive our son slammed into a wall at full speed. As the vehicle aged its plastic components became brittle and vulnerable to cracks and fractures. Finding a replacement part proved difficult because modern manufacturing often can't replicate the original materials or designs. To create the replacement upright, I tried multiple printing orientations on the bed until it was minimal, thus allowing easy disconnection from the printer with pliers before fine-tuning the edges. The process of constructing the part requires precision to assemble and function properly as intended by the designer's original design specifications. Begin by using a 3mm drill to prepare the hole for the pivot mechanism and run a 7.2mm bit for a snug fit around the stub axle area since printing with certain materials might leave this part a tad loose until warmed up to make fitting easier then proceed with securing any gaps when finished with the help of superglue, in which case it makes ball joints and m3 screws perfectly fit within.
