Tall MacBook Pro 16/17/18 Desk Stand

MacBook Pro 2018 Stand Uses Minimal Footprint This stand positions the MacBook Pro's body at its steepest angle possible so that the display remains perfectly vertical. It probably works with the 2016/17 models as well, but the angle might not be exactly the same. Inspired by the design on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2458297), this stand aims to take up as little space as possible on a desk. All parts of the stand fit comfortably on an i3 Mk2S printer bed, which is 250x210mm in size. The design involves printing three main components: one for each side and two horizontal braces that are superglued into place using PLA material to make gluing easier. Some notes about this design: Since the laptop's screen is positioned all the way open, it can't be tilted past perfectly vertical. Using it now, I find that even with the screen high up, I still feel the need to tilt it back a bit. I might create a 15-degree less-steep version soon. I probably won't print this stand again myself since each part takes about six and a half hours to complete. Instead, I'll add rubber feet to the front of the stand to tilt it back slightly. The center of gravity (CG) of the laptop is positioned almost perfectly between the two contact points, making it quite stable despite having the CG so high up. However, 'propping' the front or back like intended shifts that CG, making it less stable. The 15-degree-less-steep version will have the same CG position, ensuring stability. Now that I've got this stand and a vertical, closed-position stand, there's a good chance I'll just use the latter from now on. In general, I'd recommend printing this stand only if you're certain you want your laptop as high up as possible and perfectly vertical. Otherwise, I suggest waiting for a less aggressive version.
