Talkbox (Guitar) Effect

This is a compact Talkbox design, not limited to use with a guitar, although they're most commonly seen in that context. Most designs seem to feature a horn tweeter connected to a long length of garden hose leading from the floor. I opted for a pocket-sized version, equipping it with a small speaker and shorter hose. Essentially, this device is a means of attaching a piece of pipe to a speaker. It's a box containing a 4W speaker connected to a section of garden hose. The theory behind this setup is that sound travels up the pipe into the player's mouth, where they can shape it, as demonstrated by Ritchie Sambora in his performances https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXN22O_R9GQ. I used a Maplin part N25KJ 28x40mm oval speaker for this project. The base could easily be modified to accommodate different sizes or shapes. To use this device, you'll need an amplifier. I recommend connecting it to the headphone output of a regular amp or perhaps a portable practice amp. You may also require a microphone and a second amp to amplify the sound, as it effectively emanates from your mouth.
