Takeout Garden - reuse your takeout cups
thingiverse
It has become a common practice to grab a coffee on the way to work, after meals, or at any time. However, the increasing amount of waste from take-out coffee is alarming, with most of it rarely recycled, yet there is a lack of awareness about this issue. The concept of 'Takeout Garden' reuses plastic cups and lids to transform them into decorative pieces for your space, such as plants and flowers. 3D-printed stands and cups can be combined to create plant pots and vases. I aimed to make it compact so it can be printed quickly in about an hour. Although this idea may not solve the problem dramatically, I hope people will reflect on their behaviors and realize they too are contributing to the issue. If you have a 3D printer, start using it with your Starbucks tall size cup (I plan to update different sizes, but it is compatible for small and regular size cups), and share this idea with others if someone asks! A thumbnail image I uploaded shows version one of my design, which was weak at first. The file includes a newer version with a slightly different shape. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Yes Notes: I recommend printing it out with high infill and resolution, especially for the cup equipment, as its legs are not very thick and need flexibility when applied to the cup. Infill and resolution will directly affect its endurance.
