Takedown Gryphon
prusaprinters
Sorry, this variation of the Gryphon is effectively obsolete. Though the original design still has its merits for all the community-derived and compatible parts and being very easy to make more derivatives from, this variant of the blaster has since been superceded by Protean, which is a much more structurally sound design.A variation of the Gryphon that uses “takedown” pins to join the critical components of the blaster together to allow for tool-less disassembly. As of now this design is only compatible with M5 clevis pins. You'd have to either edit the files or use a drill for your desired imperial analogs. These pins are:2 50mm in length1 30mm in length3 25mm in length1 15mm in lengthThese can vary and the pins that are shorter than 50mm can all functionally be matched though this may have a minor effect on aesthetics by having certain pins stick out more than others. You'll still need to go to the main blaster page to download the files from there, and simply print out the 'TKD' components here instead of the ones in the main files (not necessarily all of them, of course, as there are different variants and options for cages and stocks and magwells). Everything else should be cross-compatible. The takedown components components consist of:The pusherThe flywheel cageFlywheel coverMotor coverMagwellWire run + a 'blend' piece so it can be split without removing the wire run.The pusher mech coverThe stock cap or side battery trayA variety of split picatinny pieces that depend on your configuration. They are labelled correspondingly to the split section of the blaster they go on.Because of some design changes with the takedown adaptation, the magwells now are recommended to be printed with supports on build plate.Other notes: Use bullet connectors. They're not only more compact but also necessary for the new wire run in this case. A full XT60 will not fit through.V1.22 co-update (03/07/21): Developed MAX cages for single-stage variants. These are 15mm bore (essentially eliminating barrel drag), 39.5mm center-distance cages for Daybreak / Twilight wheels. As Eclipse wheels are not anywhere near available, this is a quick variant for maximizing FPS out of a single-stage.V1.23 co-update (03/27/21): MAX TKD single-stage cages also have reinforcement ridges added to the motor wells. Also included are the dual-stage TKD variants for the MAX have also been added for compatibility's sake. These were forgotten, and the date of the update is now included.V1.3 co-update (05/22/22): The blaster has been brought up to date with the past few updates in V1.2 and now up to V1.3 standards, with a few additional minor tweaks. The pusher mech cover has been merged, the magwell joint has been merged with the grip, the stock mounting points have been changed to give them significantly more strength, and the magwell mounting points have been moved for the same reason with respect to the magwell joint. There's new EXPD wire run option for half-length magwells that should allow for longer runs of wires to better fit (which also ensures an easier swap to a full-length magwell). Finally, flywheel cages between 41.5mm and 38.5mm have been re-exported with support ribs for the motor cans. Keep in mind, you will need to print out a new pusher for this.V1.31 co-addendum (3/13/23): I took a long time to get around to testing it and ended up just deciding I should release the files anyways. The takedown variant for the buffer tube is included here, in addition to an updated Mech Cover in-line with the main fileset.
