This jig is designed to efficiently cut a 1" square and/or 1-1/8" round dowel using a standard miter back saw. A built-in end stop accommodates a 10mm slice, approximately 3/8" after sanding, allowing for easy removal of the pieces and effortless stock movement without having to put the saw down. The second holder provides additional support at a greater distance. Screw holes for #6 or #8 drywall screws are conveniently located, enabling secure fastening to a 1x2 or other supporting structure. I utilize a portable workbench with clamping sections, crafting the bottom plates to seamlessly integrate with M3 bolts that clamp down on a slot of my workbench, providing a highly satisfactory level of security. #6 bolts could serve as an effective alternative; however, the holes may require slight expansion for optimal performance. In my case, I chose to tap the holes for 8-32 threads. The jig and supporting structure were printed with 3 walls and 15% infill, while the clamp plates required a more robust configuration of 4 walls and 35% infill to ensure maximum stability and effectiveness.
