Tak Gaming Pieces and Board
thingiverse
These are gaming pieces and board segments for "Tak", a highly strategic board game designed by James Ernest and Patrick Rothfuss, which is based on the game in "The Wise Man's Fear". For rules, printable boards, and instructions, please visit http://cheapass.com/games/tak. Revision History: V1.1: The Capstones have been redesigned for better print quality; the print layout has also been improved. V2.0: This update introduces the board design. V2.1: The dimensions of the PLA board were adjusted to ensure a proper fit, and the corner was removed in favor of an edge. V2.2: The piece sets for a 5x5 game were added, and the diamond design was modified for PLA filament use. How-to: Gaming Pieces: There are files available that include pieces for both colors and various game sizes. Each file contains a Capstone and multiple Flatstones. To get all the pieces, print the black and white versions together. For a 5x5 game, print the 5x5 files with a single Capstone and 21 Flatstones. For a 5x5 game, print the 6x6 files with a single Capstone and 30 Flatstones. To get two Capstones and 51 Flatstones for an 8x8 game, print both the 5x5 and 6x6 files. Board: I have designed the board to be compatible with different filaments. The diamond design is the same for both ABS (tight fit) and PLA (with a little space). Board layouts can be found at http://cheapass.com/games/tak. For a Hybrid 5x5 board, you will need: 8 black fields 8 white fields 25 diamonds 16 sides 4 edges For a Hybrid 6x6 board, you will need: 9 black fields 16 white fields 36 diamonds 20 sides 4 edges
