Taj Mahal - Agra, India

myminifactory

Welcome to India! We're thrilled to add this model to the New 7 Wonders of the World category at MiniWorld! The Taj Mahal, situated on the south bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, India, was commissioned in 1632 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This stunning ivory-white marble mausoleum earned UNESCO World Heritage Site designation in 1983 for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the world's most admired masterpieces." Many legends surround the Taj Mahal's story: one claims that Shah Jahan had the craftsmen who carved the tombs' precious decorations mutilated so they couldn't recreate anything as beautiful as Mumtaz Mahal's final resting place. Angelo D'Angelo, a MiniWorld collaborator, shares this description on 3dprintravel.com/taj-mahal-agra/. Designed with 3D printing in mind, this model was created from scratch by hand and brain. We appreciate your credit; it's all about spreading culture! Enjoy and share photos of your prints! MiniWorld is a collection of 3D printable landmarks from around the world.
